Yep - Beers (some craft) you can use in place of Champagne for your celebrations. Not all of these are hard to get as one of the choices is also Stella Artois - not my choice tonight, but to each their own! https://uproxx.com/life/craft-beer-instead-of-champagne-nye/

12/30/21 - #cocktails #mixers #mixeddrink #wine #iceinwine #winemag #na #alcoholfree

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

The Best Cocktail Mixers are there to help to enlarge your drink, break back the alcohol, add another layer of flavor, and make the cocktail complete. The best ones are often simple, but not always. To Have the best mixers, you can look to a number of canned sodas, add in some bitters or citrus and you have a complete drink - and it can even be alcohol-free. Here’s a list of simple mixers that link to complete recipes if you need more direction. https://www.falstaff.com/en/nd/the-best-cocktail-mixers/

Is it ever OK to put ice in wine? Of course, it is! If you bought it - you can have it however you like. It’s no longer considered sacrilege by many and it’s common to see ice in rose wine during the summer months in France. However, isn’t just for those hot summer nights if you want to cool yourself or your wine down anytime. If you want to have the best experience, then maybe check the list from Winemag https://www.winemag.com/2021/12/20/ice-in-wine/

And continuing with the wine and non-alcoholic beverages as we head toward a dry January for many. Is NA wine, basically grape juice? No - it’s crafted and the alcohol is often removed from these beverages, just like others. Learn more about that process and the winemakers from California, Spain, and others who are removing the alcohol for their customers from brands like Teetotaler, Leitz, and Surely https://www.thrillist.com/drink/nation/everything-you-need-to-know-about-alcohol-removed-wine

Tomorrow:

Beers to use in place of Champagne for your celebrations, Dry January tips, and helping to fund a cure.

12/29/21 - #champagne #bubbly #NYE #Stout #porter #winterbeer #delivery #deliveryservice #deliveryday #togo

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

Did you know that 17% of all champagne delivered is during the month of December, while March and April are the slowest months? Also - you don’t have to fork over $200 for a bottle of Dom Perignon (though you could) - you can also get winners for around $75 like Veuve Clicquot or about $20 for La Marca Prosecco. Check out the recommended bottles of bubbly at https://nypost.com/2021/12/16/toast-the-new-year-with-the-best-champagnes-and-sparkling-wines/

Or maybe you’re sticking to beer, well you should have the best beer available for this time of year, right? Apparently, I’m not alone in this being my favorite time of year for stouts, porters, and the like - this list features one I nearly bought earlier today (but there’s always tomorrow, right?) Briefcase Porter from Exhibit “A” Brewing in Massachusetts, Smoke and Dagger Black Lager from Jack’s Abbey, and Straight Jacket Barleywine Ale from Revolution Brewing. Check out the rest at https://coolmaterial.com/food-drink/best-craft-beer-winter-2021/

And if it’s just too daunting to go out into the world, or maybe it’s just too cozy on the couch, delivery of your booze is an ever-growing option. You might only know about one or two on this list - but Forbes vetted 14 services. Small local delivery services also seem to be popping up all over - so check with your local bottle and can dispensary to see if you’re in the dark! Check out the full list at https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbes-personal-shopper/2021/12/27/alcohol-delivery-services/

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

If you have anyone over around the holidays, especially New Year’s Eve - you’ll likely end up with a spill. If it’s a light-colored beer or wine, not always as big an issue - but cleaning up Red Wine can be a pain. This list should help you keep your carpets & wood surfaces looking like the spill never happened… but your mileage may vary! https://www.winespectator.com/articles/how-to-clean-up-spilled-wine-and-remove-stains

Apparently, Vermont is an “Under the radar beer scene” I guess that’s what people mean when they refer to the “cultish following” that people have because it’s a limited audience that understands how good #vtbeer is! According to HopCulture, CT, NH, NJ, and SC are all under the radar too. Find out what you might have been missing! https://www.hopculture.com/best-beer-states-2021/

If you’re a gin lover, you might have a few drinks you’ve learned to make - but this list promises to teach you several classics - from a proper Gin and tonic, Gimlet, Tom Collins, to James Bond’s Vesper Martini it’s sure to have a match for your palate from among the variety of flavor combinations https://www.tastingtable.com/443632/cocktails-to-try-if-you-like-drinking-gin/

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

Everyone who knows golf has heard about the 19th hole, but the relationship with golf runs deep - according to Golf.com and Untappd there are Hundreds of beers with “golf” in the name, add in birdies, bogeys, irons, wedges, and putters… you see where this is going. Well, they put together a list of the 9 best.. though I can’t for the life imagine why they didn’t play all the way through to 18 https://golf.com/lifestyle/there-beers-golf-name-9-best/

We’ve heard many states accept that there’s a problem, but Ohio has changed its liquor laws to allow 18-year-old servers. Other states are asking for 17, but at least they’re moving in the right direction! They also allowed more outdoor drinking, Sunday sales, Home-brew rules, Gift cards, and auctions… under certain conditions. https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2021/12/22/ohio-changes-its-homebrew-liquor-laws-lowers-age-serve-alcohol/6499307001/

And as we approach “Dry January” I’m continuing to bring you stories of NA and Low ABV beverages. This time for wine lovers - as a site has amassed a list of 12 Non-Alcoholic wines for those who have a proper palate, but haven’t found a product that they find pleasing. Again - the people behind the list say this doesn’t appear to be an anti-alcohol movement but rather a pro-health, wellness, and mindfulness movement. The list contains bubbly, whites, reds, and rosé wines. https://www.purewow.com/wine/non-alcoholic-wines

“Cocktails To Go” has another state allowing the beverage trend to stick around for a while. 16 States made ‘to go’ cocktails a permanent fixture. California joins the list of 15 states with a temporary reprieve. Governor Newsom signed the bill which ends December 31, 2026. For the list of the others, follow the link in the show notes to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. https://www.distilledspirits.org/?s=to+go+cocktails&submit=

Every Wine lover needs a cork holder that spells out their love for wine, right? Well, those are certainly available on this list - but there are, thankfully, other options available too. Maybe you need a decanter, a way to clean your decanter, or some fancy vacuum sealer (which may or may not prolong the life of your opened bottle of wine), but chances are you might find a great last-minute gift on this list. I admit there have been times I printed up a picture of something I ordered for someone - so they had a gift to open on the special day, but wouldn’t actually arrive until well after that day. https://parade.com/1304576/karlarodriguez/gifts-for-wine-lovers/

If you’re taking a weekend off from drinking, not done your workday, or headed to a gathering but need to have your wits about you… here’s a list of non-alcoholic beers that allow you to have a few drinks with your friends, but still be safe to jump into whatever the rest of your night holds. I would add that the Food and wine folks should also try Rescue Club IPA but that’s just one of my favorites https://www.rescueclubbrewing.com/beer/p/rescue-club-ipa and the full list at https://www.foodandwine.com/drinks/best-nonalcoholic-beers

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and New Hampshire Brewers Association got together to launch the Sustainable Craft Beverage Recognition Program. It expands on prior work the state has been doing and was created as a way to publicly recognize and encourage craft beverage producers who are, preventing pollution and improving energy efficiency, conserving water, minimizing waste, and other similar steps. New Hampshire leaders are offering training, resources, and support to continue expanding the effort https://www.des.nh.gov/business-and-community/greening-your-business/sustainable-craft-beverages

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

Many of the ‘Top beers’ of the year are made by brewers, judges, and experts, but what does the general public think? Well, the closest to that may be the list from Untappd (you can friend me at https://untappd.com/user/BoozeBaconBoy). Some might be surprised at Tripel Karmeliet from Brouwerij Bosteels, but then reassured that Miller Lite, Heineken, and Yeungling Lager made the list and Guinness topped it! https://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/2021/12/the-10-most-popular-beers-in-the-world-in-2021-according-to-untappd/

And what do you do if you want to have a drink or two, and don’t like craft beer or seltzer and one bottle of wine is just too much? That’s probably where Canned low-alcohol wines have come in and they’re expected to gain a lot of traction in the coming year. Canned wines are certainly fairly new, but canned wine with a 5% - 6% ABV is a growing global trend, being driven by the younger American market’s palates. The story also has a link to boxed wines making a comeback  https://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/2021/12/low-alcohol-canned-wine-rtds-set-to-boom-in-2022/

And a bonus fight! That thankfully didn’t happen. Bud Light and Yuengling almost had a tiff, but thankfully cooler heads seem to have prevailed. It all stemmed from an alleged trampling of the trademarked phrase “next generation of light beer." This is the best non-fight between the two since Yuengling said “Get off my lawn." about two years ago! Read more at https://news.yahoo.com/yuengling-accuses-bud-light-trampling-161135213.html

12/21/2021 - Happy Winter Solstice! #WinterSolstice #CraftCanning #canshortage #holidayspirit #winemakers #NY #NewYork

Tuesday, Dec 21 2021 Happy Winter Solstice!

Craft beverage producers are welcoming the addition of American Canning’s expanding operations. They’re opening a new 155,000 square foot aluminum can manufacturing plant, which will also mean a second shrink-sleeve line of 3,500 square feet, that’s expected to be operational in early 2022 https://www.bevnet.com/news/supplier-news/2021/american-canning-to-begin-can-manufacturing-with-operations-expansion-in-2022/

Maybe bookmark this list of the 10 most popular liquors during the holiday season, so you never find yourself running out. Some of the items, which likely contains no surprises, include; Bailey’s Irish Cream, Grand Marnier, and Captain Morgan https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/food/2021/12/17/top-10-liquors-pair-your-christmas-cocktails/8835922002/

And where do Californian Wine Makers go to ‘get creative’? Apparently New York State! I guess California isn’t the place they ought to be, packing up their bags and moving away from Napa Valley! https://www.winemag.com/2021/12/20/california-winemaker-finger-lakes/

Monday Dec 20 2021 - #Whistlepig #RTD #cocktail #Louisiana #Craftbrewer #Cider #spicedcider #holidaydrinks

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

Whistlepig introduced canned cocktails in October, but they’re tweaking the lineup. Originally named Blackberry Lemon Fizz, Session Citrus Mint, and Fresh Ginger Lime…Look for Ginger Lime Mule, Blackberry Lemon Smash, & Citrus Mint Julep in 12-ounce cans coming soon! https://mybeerbuzz.blogspot.com/2021/12/whistlepig-adding-canned-craft.html

The Louisiana Craft Brewers Guild has put up more than 30 billboards in Lake Charles to urge lawmakers in town for the annual LegisGator event to take a hard look at how the state regulates the craft beer industry. They argue the rules governing the industry are outdated and not only holding back the sector’s growth, which it considers a costly mistake but pushing things backward for the industry in the state. Lawmakers were tasked with researching the topic last year, but it looks like little progress has been made https://www.businessreport.com/business/louisiana-craft-brewers-launch-public-campaign-for-regulation-overhaul

And if you’re looking for a drink that gets you in the mood for the holidays, maybe a spiced cider should be on your list. I’ve had several of the ones on this list and would definitely have again. Downeast Cider Donut, Woodchuck Hard Cider Spiced Apple, and Doc’s Draft Cranberry Spice Cider promise the flavors to compliment any holiday meal this year, though, from my experience, they can be consumed without the meal! https://www.ciderculture.com/winter-spiced-ciders/

Friday December 17 2021- #Lays #potatochipvodka #Soda #Beer #bigred #BigRojo #sodabeer #bourbon #blindtastetest

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

Sometimes a beverage was crafted to get headlines and, I think that is true of two stories today - but what the heck! Lays has now created their own potato Vodka! Eastside Distilling worked with Lays, and the potatoes they make the chips with, to blend with Lay’s proprietary potatoes. No Sour Cream and Onion or BBQ flavors here (yet anyway) it’s a straight vodka with a crisp, clean finish. https://www.foodandwine.com/news/lays-potato-chip-vodka

Now for the second… A Soda Flavored Beer? Yup - it’s a thing now… if it wasn’t already. Islla Street Brewing has created the side flavored beer - a Berliner Weisse that’s bright red, sour, and apparently goes really well with barbacoa tacos. Yesterday marked the second drop and, according to their site, is already sold out online! https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/big-red-flavored-beer-from-san-antonio-brewery-hit-the-shelves-at-h-e-b-stores-craft-beer-iconic-tradition-barbacoa

Sometimes, when you have a tasting of any drink - you can be surprised by the winner. Apparently, that’s what happened to a team who assembled to test the ‘best bourbons of 2021’. The top five included Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door - Master’s Edition, Woodinville Port Cask, and (the winner) Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. I’ll say this - I had some Elijah Craig this summer and it was fantastic, though I’m no judge. https://uproxx.com/life/best-bourbons-2021-blind-taste-test-ranking/

December 16 2021 - #collaboration #Sierra Nevada #HoppinFrog #Beer #whiskey #BORIS #OatmealStout #Mcscrooge #NA #nonalcoholic #lowabv

Coming up on Saturday, December 18, California-based St. George Spirits will release a whiskey in partnership with Sierra Nevada. The new small-batch whiskey is distilled from Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye IPA. The batch was distilled back in 2013 and has been left to age in barrels for the last eight years. The finished blend also includes some of St. George's first Single Malt Whiskey from 1997. Look for it to cost about $75 a bottle and be fairly hard to find! https://www.thrillist.com/news/nation/sierra-nevada-whiskey-beer-st-george-spirits

Ohio’s Hoppin’ Frog has a Collaboration too - this time with a barrel-aged BORIS beer (Barrel-aged, Royal Oatmeal Imperial Stout), made with Knoxville Tennessee’s McScrooge’s Wine and Spirits. You can try to get it through Hoppin’ Frog’s Rare Beer Club or at McScrooge’s when it’s released https://shop.hoppinfrog.com/beer-1/rarebeerclub2022

And consumers continue to pay top dollar for cocktails, beer, and wine with no alcohol. Research has now been unveiled that says many of those drinking these beverages aren't giving up alcohol for good though. Alcohol analysis firm IWSR said 58% of no- and low-alcohol consumers still drink but in moderation. The movement is being pushed by younger audiences who are more focused on wellness than prior generations, though it’s trickling through to all groups of consumers. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/09/more-are-drinking-alcohol-free-cocktails-beer-and-wine-heres-why.html

EXTRA - Unfortunately it’s "last call" for Keurig Dr Pepper and Anheuser-Busch’s joint venture Drinkworks. They announced yesterday that they’re beginning shut down procedures. You can visit the link to see if you can get a reimbursement for one of their countertop drink maker machines. https://www.drinkworksrefundprogram.com/

Dec 15 2021 - #Tröegs #charcuterie #cheese #instagramworthy #Jersey #Stout #Fudge #chocolate #GolfandBeer #SI #SportsIllustrated

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

As I was perusing Tröeg's blog on some of their cheeses - like Grand Cacao and Mad Elf - I saw they have a post on making an Instagram-worthy charcuterie spread. Of course, they want you to use the cheese they made with Caputo Brothers Creamery, but grab some local beer/cheese collars and go to town on your own spread. Fid those posts and more at https://blog.troegs.com/

If you are in the world of Golf and Beer, you might know Tom Bedell. He’s the sole member of both the Golf Writers Association of America and the North American Guild of Beer Writers. The Vermont writer and beer drinker put together a list I can find no fault with - except I haven’t completed it (yet) of “The 12 Days of Christmas (With a Beer Twist). It’s waiting for you at Sports Illustrated https://www.si.com/golf/news/12-days-of-christmas-with-a-beer-twist

And I hear the words “Cape May, NJ” all the time from several I know who travel there… not to meet the cast of Jersey Shore - but to photograph bird migrations. Well, there’s now another reason to migrate there - because Cape May Brewing and The Original Fudge Kitchen have collaborated on Chocolate Fudge Stout, it’s a part of the brewery's 10-year anniversary celebration series of limited-run beers. In my book there’s never a bad time for a stout or fudge, but especially when they’re together! The beer has chocolate rye, chocolate malt, and - of course - the Original Fudge Kitchen’s chocolate fudge for flavoring. https://www.nj.com/cape-may-county/2021/12/jersey-shore-beer-fudge-worlds-collide-in-cape-may-brewings-chocolate-stout-mash-up.html

December 14 2021 - #Nun #Abbey #Schwarzbier #blacklager #Loverboy #cannedcocktail #holidaycocktails

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com  The nuns of Belgium's Maredret Abbey were struggling to scrape together the funds for renovations, and, about five years ago, turned to an occupation that they hadn’t done in centuries: beer-brewing. They’re eying expansion across Europe and into the United States as they have now packaged 300,000 bottles this year, hoping to reach up to three million bottles a year! The nuns, but the way, allow themselves one bottle each on Sundays. https://news.yahoo.com/centuries-belgian-nuns-beer-134026947.html  Schwarzbier, also known as black lager, is starting to have its moment in the US where there has been a 400% increase in just the past two years. It seems especially popular in the warmer weather areas from South Carolina to Southern California where stouts and porters seem too heavy, but people still want the roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate flavors in a lighter body beer. Sign me up! http://thebrewermagazine.com/schwarzbiers-are-trending-in-american-craft-beer/  For your holiday this year, might I recommend a Loverboy? Not the band, or that “friend”. I mean ready-to-drink canned cocktail maker Loverboy. They introduced espresso martini canned cocktails - cutting out the inconveniences of now only having an espresso machine, but knowing how to use it. Now, the booze maker is unleashing two more flavors to their lineup to keep the holiday season - Peppermint Mocha and Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis https://www.thrillist.com/news/nation/loverboy-new-holiday-inspired-espresso-martini-flavors  The Boozebuddy Update continues on video! Monday December 13 2021 - #NA #AlcoholFree #RescueClub #ZeroGravity #FunnyWater #Servers #Staffing #servers

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

One thing’s for sure, there are now more options than ever in craft brewing and that shows by the list of The 12 Best New Breweries of 2021. One outfit, Rescue Club Brewing, stands out on that list. Zero Gravity Brewing, along with Citizen Cider Co-Founder Kris Nelson, developed proprietary technology to craft a beer that’s fun, approachable, and delicious - while also alcohol-free. https://www.hopculture.com/best-new-breweries-2021/

As hard seltzer now seems to be everywhere a new contender is on the market Funny Water launches as an “alternative to carbonated alcoholic beverages.” The creators say “If you’re not a fan of bubbles and the bloat that often comes with carbonation, your starting point was typically 14%. We saw a unique opportunity to fill this void, creating a lower-alcohol entry point for a widely underserved consumer.” https://cheersonline.com/2021/12/07/funny-water/

And while the legal drinking age doesn’t seem to be going anywhere - there’s a new push to lower the legal serving age to 17. The Detroit News story claims that Northern Michigan needs service workers and the pandemic made that need the number one issue for bars and restaurants, according to the executive director of the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association. I'm sure it’s an issue that affects many other areas currently having a heck of a time with staffing https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2021/12/11/michigan-alcohol-servers-age-limit-reduction-worker-shortage/6471367001/

Looking for more voices in a community made by and for the underrepresented voices in craft beer, spirits, wine, etc? Want a beer with some History. Atlas Obscura sat down with Sam Caliglione of Dogfish Head to talk about Historical beers. Sam’s been tackling them since 1990. One beer in the article is a porter made from a recipe George Washington shared in a letter in 1757. It’s now part of the “Ales of the Revolution” series by Yard’s Brewing. https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/recreating-historical-beers

Now that the rumors have been dispelled, Grey Goose is returning to the shelves in markets where it’s been conspicuously absent. What Rumors? It was alleged that Grey Goose wasn’t Kosher! Rabbi Dayan cleared up any confusion, writing “I hereby come to clarify unequivocally in an unambiguous way that all the alcohol that is brought to the Grey Goose factory is produced from wheat which grows in the Picardie region in France (and not grapes),”. Check out the article that hopes to help undo the damage https://collive.com/with-rumors-dispelled-grey-goose-returns-to-shelves/

Another BONUS & Tip of the hat to Pints and Panels!

Em made a great “Beer and Holiday Pairings” that I’m going to browse through the holidays with https://t.co/mNZr70Gc5n

December 8 2021 - #TenBest #10Best #VTspirits #vtbeer #vtcider #Cider #MulledWine #spices #Chocolate #ChocolateStout #Stout

Brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcasts, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

Checking out the 10Best lists - Vermont was well represented

• Best Cidery - Citizen Cider #8

• Best New Brewery - Red Clover Ale Company #7

• Best Craft Vodka Distillery - Smugglers Notch Distillers, Barr Hill, and Vermont Spirits Distilling Co.

• Best Gin Distillery - Barr Hill

All the 10 Best at https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/

Tis the season for mulled wines. You might want to buy some off the shelf, or you could make your own. Traditional glögg spices include clove, cardamom, ginger, orange, and cinnamon sticks. Home mixologists can make an infusion, or simply heat the wine up on the stove with the spices to meld the flavor. Experts recommend shiraz and cabernet sauvignon, but in a pinch, Merlot would work too. More at https://www.denverpost.com/2021/12/08/mulled-wine-colorado/

If Stouts and Porters are more your speed for wintry drinks, maybe look to chocolate flavors with your beer! Personally, I’d compare this list of Rogue, Yeungling, Faction, and others to a comparable beer I could find locally - but these are all a good start for the chocolatey goodness! https://uproxx.com/life/best-beers-for-fans-of-chocolate/

December 7 2021 - #Calendar #MostWonderfulTimeoftheYear #IPA #HazyIPA #Drizly #Q1 #alcoholsales #sales #Science #beer #collab

The Boozebuddy Update is brought to you by The Real Voice - Mel Allen. Providing voice over for commercials, podcast intros & outros, explainer videos, eLearning, telephone systems, and more. Check out samples and demos at https://therealvoice.com

It’s a wonderful time of the year - not Christmas - it’s when breweries start the early reveal of next year’s release calendar!

And mark me as wrong, I thought that Stouts were the more popular style this time of year - but it’s actually Hazy IPA’s (and red wine) that own the winter months! If you’re having a hard time choosing one, and don’t have a local brewery whose brews knock your socks off - this list from HopCulture might help you find a widely available (but still great) IPA in a store near you. https://www.hopculture.com/best-hazy-ipas-available-in-most-stores-right-now/

It looks like Drizly plans to stock up on RTD’s and craft beer that stores well - especially in areas with a lot of rain or snow in the winter months. Apparently, sales spike when it’s not great outside (which makes sense, but the numbers prove it). Several other interesting, if a bit of a dry read, news tidbits on the top predictions by Drizly for this winter are at https://bevalcinsights.com/bevalc-insights-top-predictions-for-winter-201-2022-sales/

Science and beer have finally come together. I mean - outside of the in-house labs that exist to make sure the yeast is working at top efficiency and everything meets quality standards. No - I mean the pharmaceutical and biotech industry’s R&D company Scientist.com and Pizza Port Brewing Co. have collaborated to create “The Local Experiment”. Apparently, the two are practically neighbors and celebrate two of San Diego’s most famous attributes - biotech and beer - learn more at https://www.brewbound.com/news/scientist-com-and-pizza-port-brewing-company-co-create-local-beer-celebrating-san-diego-culture

December 6 2021 - #NationalRepealDay #Prohibition #Burlington #Vermont #bvt #btv #Stout #ChooseYourOwnAdventure

Did you know that yesterday we celebrated the United States' only Constitutional Holiday? #NationalRepealDay is December 5th and celebrates the end of prohibition. The Temperance Movement started in the 1800s and finally ended up with prohibition on January 16, 1919. It ended many breweries, distilleries and led to laws that still have echoes today. However, December 5th, 1933 saw the end of prohibition. So raise a glass. Find out more at https://moonshineuniversity.com/repeal-day-americas-only-constitutional-holiday/

Burlington Vermont is a hotbed of beer, and now it’s also home to a cooperative brewery - Full Barrel Co-op Brewery & Taproom. They’re now officially licensed to brew beer by the state of Vermont. So what’s a Cooperative Brewery? To oversimplify - it’s a group of people choosing to work together toward a common goal. In this case Beer. Rather than shortchange what they’re doing, the FAQ at their website is probably the best place to get more info http://www.fullbarrel.coop/faq

Stouts are, undoubtedly popular, especially this time of year for many people. Like many beers, it can be a building block for adding all manner of other flavors. S’mores, waffles, raspberries, and chocolates are just some that come to mind. VinePair has a recipe they share called “Choose Your Own Adventure Stout” and some ways to make it your own - from milk, oatmeal to imperial, and pastry stouts. Think of it like the LEGO baseplate that you start a build from. I might just have to brew this one soon! https://vinepair.com/articles/choose-your-own-adventure-stout-recipes/

Vermont’s former Maple Valley Ski Area is going to have a rebirth. On Thursday, the owners met with state officials to continue the process of renovating the base lodge into a brewery and distillery with a tasting room seating 100 people. The site was also previously used as a live music venue and plans to reintroduce similar events. A tip of the hat to Lawson's Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, VT, who turned over their donations totaling nearly $80,000 to 32 area nonprofits. Lawson’s pays its employees a living wage with benefits generous enough that they don't need to rely on tips - instead turning any to nonprofits throughout the year. https://www.necn.com/news/local/instead-of-tips-customers-give-community-donations-at-this-vermont-taproom/2626523/

Miller High Life is selling Gingerbread Dive Bar Kits for the holidays. The $50 kit is ‘infused with Miller High Life’ and will probably be much cleaner than the last dive bar I was in. If you want to get one, head to https://shop.millerhighlife.com/
