I tweeted at Pints and Panels today to see if there were any Girl Scout Cookie and Beer Pairings to recommend - and it’s coming in March! I’ll do my best to keep you informed as my cookies just dropped and I might try some pairings as I have heard Samoas pair well with a Brown Ale, S'mores with a Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout, and Shortbread aka Trefoil with Sours or Pale Ales - but I have not tried myself yet. The next one is a bit of a Valentine’s pairing, but for those who just aren’t into the wines. This one is for the Scotch and chocolate lovers - a wonderful level of indulgence that makes my mouth water just thinking about it! This is a bit of an old list - but I couldn’t find one that went across several brands and types that was updated and, honestly, this one just seems like it’s so much more of a complete list. And now for something completely different - The University of Southern Maine (USM) Foundation has received a $100,000 gift from Maine Beer Company to create a unique Brewing Up Opportunity Internship & Scholarship Fund. The gift establishes a pilot program for USM students that includes a paid internship with Maine Beer Company and a scholarship award of up to $5,000 per academic year upon completion of the internship. The program’s goal is to promote diversity and inclusion within the craft beverage industry by providing access to education, on-the-job training, and mentoring to help develop a new generation of beer industry professionals.
