Well that didn’t take long, A new program meant to rescue plastic can carriers, has already collected over 10,000 of the beer hauling plastic holders, handles, or toppers! The program launched in November with the collaboration of a wade systems operator, Reusable solutions, and Eco Friendly Beer, over a dozen breweries, cideries, and eco-conscious consumers! And to think - I haven’t even dropped mine off yet! The program saves not only on the funds and cost to manufacture and transport the plastic - but provides a much-needed commodity for craft beverage makers, and created a recycling stream for ones that can be washed and reused. I hope this means the Vermont Can Carrier Reuse & Recycle Initiative can grow https://www.brewbound.com/news/vermont-reuse-recycle-initiative-rescues-10000-plastic-can-carriers-in-first-2-months
Dry January, for some, doesn’t mean taking the month off from anything - and there are several THC and CBD beverage “enhancers” that are answering the call for those looking for options. Dry January, by the way, not as new as some think - apparently dating back to the 1940s. So apparently it’s from “the Good ole days” we always hear about, though it really started gaining steam in the states about 11 years back. The good thing is that alcohol-free beer, seltzers, coffee and drink starters with CBD or THC are all available (in some areas), and it won't cost much more than a liquor-store run. Lagunitas, Dixie Elixirs, and Ripple are some names that might be new to you - but maybe you’d like an introduction. Now we’ve all made some good putts - some of my best have been made at a now-defunct mini-golf course, some are made in the office and one man made a 96-foot putt at a University of Louisville men’s basketball game recently to win a bottle of 23-year-old Pappy Van Winkle with “Putt for Pappy”. Kevin Burch - I tip my hat to you - and if you’d like someone to share it with - call me. You can read the story and watch him drain the shot at the link https://whiskeyraiders.com/bourbon/pappy-van-winkle-bourbon-winner-putt-louisville/
